Seasoned house veteran Peter O returns to Electric Sheep Recordings, following on from his well received "Space EP" from last year. These two tracks are a further testament to his impeccable production flair, with his twenty odd year love affair of house and techno clearly evident.
"U Still There" is a slick, upbeat and melodious slither of hedonistic house music. Ethereal pads glide along with buoyant keyboard refrains and ubiquitous percussion.
Chicago's Distortion Inc. having given us a full ep last month, now spoils us with his take on "U Still There" which keeps the atmosphere in check, but delves deeper and more reflective, adding emotive vox, understated squidgy acid and an enchanting rhythm.
"Yesterday's Blues" is similar in spirit with a stirring and evocative vibe, marrying alluring strings and luscious synthesized harmonics to rolling energetic beats.
