Deepologic - Rezonancie EP
As an A&R director of a label, I get hundreds of new songs a week to “filter through”. From well-known artists to young new producers, it’s a large proportion of listening. So it’s pretty damn rare when my ears are instantly enchanted by an astounding song from a completely unsolicited source. In the early days of this year, our label head Funtom sent me over such a track…something so wickedly avant-garde yet so firmly aimed at the dancefloor that I had to sign it.Deepologic’s “Resonance” is the track that instantly blew me away upon first listen. The deep driving syncopated groove and pulsing bassline almost immediately give way to an off-kilter analogue synth solo coupled with bubbling pads. Definitive cinematic qualities shine throughout this track. Deepologic is the nom d'artiste of one Jan Kolcak, from Slovakia. And this is his very first release…wait until you hear the next EP from him that we have in the vaults! The first remix of “Rezonancie” is from my good friend and Snake Beat label head, Stefano Albanese. He takes the original’s synth lead and couples it with driving garage/jack-house rhythms. Underpinned by spacey atmospherics and organ stabs, the main breakdown recharges the proceedings with élan. This remix delivers pure auditory pleasure.Same thing goes for neophyte, J.Bowra, who takes his remix into the more ethereal areas of the dancefloor. A very know DJ in the American Southwest, J.Bowra takes his club experiences straight into the studio for his very first release. Funky percussion, deep sonorous bass, tympanic stabs, female voices, and iridescent atmospherics all culminate in a psychedelic breakdown where the original synth lead is completely reconfigured. An astoundingly wicked first release! The man like Zuko has graced labels like Communiqué, Festival Lounge, and Snake Beat with his distinctive deep tech-house sound. Taking a more minimalistic approach, Zuko’s remix slowly builds and crescendos several times before culminating in a stunning harmonious burst of bells and synths. It is an aural journey custom built for late night/early morning mind-expanding dancefloor journeys.Deepologic – “Rezonancie EP” will be released worldwide on September 1st, exclusive to Beatport.
