Thatboytim - SpaceAge Brothers

Thatboytim steps up to the mark for our next release "SpaceAge Brothers". Tim Smyth has been involved in the Irish electronic scene for many years now and has numerous releases on many labels including Nice & Nasty and his own label Takeover. Tim's style as a producer is non-compromising. He knows what he wants and doesn't stop until it reaches his level of satisfaction. In fact, it's nearly two years since we first heard the title track as a demo and Tim was kind enough to let us be the label to release it today.

When I first heard "SpaceAge Brothers", I immediately played it again, because it genuinely took me on a journey its a tripped-out groove, reminiscent of a gritty 70's soundtrack. It's an infectious groove and perfectly paced building to an uplifting peak. A top track that is perfect for the slow burning sets, chilled out moods. or early mornings.

The second original is "Tim's Whim", another lazy groove but this time more synth based. The track is deep as deep can be and grows on you more and more upon each listen.

The package is completed with three takes on "Spaceage Brothers" by Harem Tone, Abhorrent, Niall Power, each of which delivers a very different take on the original and on techno.
