Hardly letting the dust settle from the February release of their extended player Easy Lee, Los Angeles’ shamanistic duo Deep Tribe continues to push house to a deeper understanding with their next single “Ghost Dance” due out on Wulfpack Records on March 30th, 2015. “Ghost Dance” gets its name from a haunting omnipresence created by synth pads in a minor key while suspended over a steady kick drum. Textures lurk in the shadows of a calculated structure as the track’s exorcists add a new layer with every eighth measure. Pummeling forward with rich 808 bass lines and crisp percussive overlays, suspense comes to an eerie tipping point when “Ghost Dance” strips down to a formless orchestral chorus pinned against a vocal sample whose intrigue might have you reaching for the nearest National Geographic. Sculpting a dark, shadowy atmosphere, Deep Tribe delivers a monster track that is sure to wake the dead and make them dance.
