Jamie Trench - A Night In Paris EP

Jamie Trench’s A night in Paris EP is a consummate lesson in shuffling grooves, striking dub organs and Mr Trench’s unique house sound. Act natural records 46th vinyl settles you into the groove quickly with dusty vocal work balanced against the almost breaky rhythm keeps you locked in. To finish this apt introduction to Jamie’s sound the bass is thick and groovy. The hallmark of this EP is a sonic depth that present in all the tracks, but the opener is a lovely roller of a track made the way Jamie knows best.

The next track on the EP builds slowly, classy filtering on the important elements keep it progressing and keep the tension tight as the very nature of this track comes to life. This track is all about emotional content, it low slung, and it’s feverish at times with its pulsing melodic elements. This tracks groove is never overlooked with the bass line underpinning affairs as the sexy female vocal and a warm luxurious product set this one apart.

At this point in the record it’s good to change thing up a bit and the Whistle doesn’t disappoint. Harder hitting from the off, this oozes of late night goodness. Almost reminiscent of his hit track JUICY this track feels born of a hip hop origin but lovingly flipped into a devastating 4/4. Party slamming flavours on show here.

How do you finish and EP like, this? Showing the true depth of this versatile artist we have red wigs red walls. An off kilt number that’s still undeniably connected to the sound presented by the other tracks on the EP but with familiar sounds being carefully swapped out to add to the synth work. Bags of style and bags of flavour red wigs red walls seals this EP off.
