Funkdamentalist - Realizm EP

It has been a strong few years for the Silence in Metropolis head Bilal and he turns out this new Funkdamentalist EP to raise the bar yet again. Featured as part of his Project 48, this EP sees him lock down the fundamentals of good, modern deep house music in a super strong collection of tracks.

Once with that is the perfect US slant on that energetic deep sound thats popular right now. Big Bass, moving arrangement and vocal work gets paired with a quirky rhythm that keeps you locked in. There is quite a lot of variety on this ep and this opens it in this guys usual DC style.

Realizm – Title track from the EP features a message we should all take note of. Why be realistic? This track is all about the thumping chunky rhythm and thoughtful pads giving the perfect backdrop to a track with a real message for once.

Roasted Blend aims squarely at the dancefloor this one is more straight baked and versatile. Expect to see this one get a wide bit of hammer in the clubs. Cut vocals and a tight groove that will travel far and wide. It’s good to see a producers versatility on display with an EP like this.

The Insides rounds things off with what feels like something that takes a little hint of filter house and intricate synth work, mixes it with a splash of melodic vocal work and provides you with a deep as hell workout track.

The Realizm ep continues a fine vein of form for Funkdamentalist and the whole SIM crew.
