Robot Needs Oil - La Balada
Back for another stellar release on Sonic Soul Records after the success of his first one is the well known Deep House veteran Robot Needs Oil with 'La Balada'. On remixes this time are Jero Nougues, Meloder and the up and coming Makanan.
La Balada has a smoother and more progressive sound than 'Little Jack' which had a more jazzy and classical Deep house feel. With a bouncey and highly danceable bassline, and progressive style plucks, La Balada has a spaced out and psychedelic vibe while still being deep. A hefty dose of chopped vocals help to create an etherial vibe.
The Jero Nougues remix remains true to the original and maintains many of the origianl elements, while providing a slightly deeper bassline and overall vibe. Several other new elements such as reverb stabs, and beautiful sound FXX make his retouch a deep house beauty. 'Can You Feel The Bassline!'
The Makana remix also remains true to the original, but focuses on upping the percussive elements with lots of shakers, drum fills and percussive hits, creating a more driving and late night version of the original. The vocals have been chopped up and played around with creating a unique vibe too.
The Meloder remix is the most unique of the remixes and furthest from the original. The bassline is simply massive and will blow your mind, while the arrangements of the vocals is impressive and beautifully placed to support the groove. Percussive elements are sparkled in just the right places to get your head and soul grooving along. As is his trademark style, Meloder sprinkles heavy doses of arpeggios throughout the tracks giving wings to the remix and allowing it to soar from the deep and into space.
