Oscar P & Robert Owens - Thank You
Release Date: 15/04/2016
DJ-Producer Oscar P teams up with Robert Owens on the innovative deep house offering “Thank You.” The collaboration goes much deeper when you scratch surface.
“Two of the first tracks I heard while getting into the house music scene were ‘Mysteries Of Love’ and ‘Can You Feel It’ Both produced by Larry Heard. A lot of my early stuff was inspired by Fingers Inc. I’ve been following and buying Robert’s tracks for years and I’ve always wanted to work with him. I would send him music I was working on and he would always take the time to give me feedback. Finally, we got something going.”
Ask any fan of dance music who their favorite male vocalist is and nine times out of ten Robert Owens name will come back. With more than twenty years experience as a gifted singer, songwriter, producer, and DJ under his belt, Robert has played a large part in defining house music. “Tears”, “I’ll Be Your Friend”, and “Ordinary People” are just some of the tunes that showcase his voice and have gone on to become truly classic dance records.
Growing up in poor areas of Chicago and L.A., where gang-related violence was part of day-to-day life, Robert Owens began his career by singing in church gospel choirs. Music proved to be his inspiration and determination to escape difficult circumstances.
