Dlay - All Right & Sines

    All Right
    Sines
    All Right (Bittersuite Remix)
    Sines (Ooze Unleashed Mix)

After a short break, London’s Sudup Recordings return with two new tracks of rhythmic deep house from label co-owner Dom Ahtuam AKA Dlay. Dlay has been busy with releases for Fortified Recordings, Midnight Social, and multiple Sudup productions. He’s also been working as one half of the duos Sketchy Beats (with Justin Berman), Invisible Menders (with Jane Fitz), and Untying the Knots (with Ketsa). The opening cut “All Right” is a nod to the sounds of early ’90s deep house, with its infectious stabs, rolling bass, and vocal samples, delivered in a fashion that wouldn’t sound out of place in Detroit’s techno heyday. “Sines” also has an old school feel to it, with a haunting melody, building percussion, and another cheeky vocal snippet which is married to some punchy, deep, wobbley bass tones.

“All Right” gets the remix treatment courtesy of Bittersuite AKA Matt Pond, a man who has been making a serious impact in the last few years with his slick productions and the Deepsystems parties that he runs in Brighton. Matt takes the cut to a different level turning in a proper dance floor workout with a cracking bass line and some solid beats. Fans of previous Bittersuite releases will not be disappointed with this. To compliment, the Toulouse-based Ooze (AKA Nans Teillard) returns to Sudup with a unique reinterpretation of “Sines.” It’s an almost lo-fi dubstep-meets-ambient sounding interpretation, but at house tempo, creating a mysterious, ominous vibe while still using the original hook in a nice style.
